I've been dreaming of my old house recently. Everything is the same as I left it. My bedroom door still full of childhood stickers, my bathroom still messy with dirty clothes. One thing is different though. All the doors in the house don't close. The doors are at least 2 inches too small for the doorway.
In this dream I found another world. A mystical faery world:
I went into my parents room to find my black sheep uncle on their computer. He told me he knew of another world through this house. I pondered for a moment remembering that my uncle is known for telling lies. Just then my mom walked into the room. "It's true", she said, "I'll show you". She took me into the bathroom and made a space for us to kneel. She told me to draw a circle on the floor big enough to fit my whole body in. "Now write a reason you would want to visit the faeries". I took a moment and wrote "cloth for a friend" across the top of the circle. Supposedly, if they accept my reason, I'll be sucked into their world. I waited a few minutes and nothing happened. "You have to knock", my mom told me. I knocked 3 times on the floor where the circle was. I heard a scratching noise and suddenly I was pulled through the cirlce by little hands. I landed on a bright red couch next to what looked like a faery with no wings. He told me his name was Tin and he was a pixie. Pixies are faeries who have not yet earned their wings.
He took my hand and led me through a corridor. He was very small, smaller than the others. "Watch your head!", he exclaimed. "These corridors are too small for human-like folks". I had to practically crawl on my knees to avoid hitting my head on the ceiling. The corridors we dark and gloomy. Not at all how I would picture the faery world to be. "We're almost there", said Tin. As soon as I started to ask where, we had arrived. The whole room was lit by candles and gem stones. There were small wooden houses with flowers growing on the walls. The grass was soft and glistening as faeries flew past and above our heads. Busy elves and dwarves worked hard in the mines, collecting gem stones and diamonds. The whole town was a vision like nothing I'd seen before. Tin grabbed my hand once more and led me past the little houses. The pretty young faeries whispered and pointed at me as I walked past. "They've never seen a human before. They think you're very pretty", said Tin. Really? I thought. They were the pretty ones. "Where are you taking me?" I asked Tin. "To the Head Faery", he said calmly. Oh no, would the head faery be upset that I entered his world? What would he do to me? I wondered. We arrived shortly at a tall castle. Tin walked up to the giant stone doors and knocked 3 times with his tiny hands. The doors opened and I followed Tin inside.
